SwaddleDesigns Giveaway!

UPDATE:  Congratulations to Domestic Diva!   You are the proud owner of a zzZipMe Sack!

I know posting has been...sparse (to put it mildly) since H was born, but you may remember that one of those posts was dedicated to my love of the SwaddleDesigns flannel swaddle blanket.  She slept wrapped up in that for 4 months before we started to transition her out of the swaddle (and into her crib, without a pacifier all at the same time - rip the bandaid, eh?).  A few days later, I received a nice email from the founder to thank me for writing such a nice post - I think I thanked HER for creating the thing that saved our sanity ;)

They also make super soft zzZipMe Sacks, which have been perfect for transitioning your baby out of the swaddle.  There are 2 weights, one for colder months and one for warmer.  She is currently napping in the pink one pictured below :)

Due to popular demand, this style & one other are now available in size 12-18 months!

As a thank you, she offered to send me 2 sleep sacks, no strings attached.  I then asked if she would like me to hold a giveaway for one & she agreed.  AWESOME - luck you, readers!  To enter, comment below with your favorite SwaddleDesigns pattern (not as easy as it sounds - so cute!).  For additional entries, you can also "like" SwaddleDesigns on Facebook & Twitter.  Also, feel free to retweet this for another.  Just come back here & let me know you did it.

My personal favorite :)

I've been meaning to write this post for, oh, 3 months or so.  Life with an infant is a lot of work!  A lot of sweet, fun, amazing and tiring work.  H is such a happy girl and we are so blessed to have her in our lives.  What a fun little person she is turning out to be!

Okay, go!  The giveaway will close on Tuesday at 10 a.m. CST.

Giveaway Winner!

Congrats to Amber - "Ooh, just found your blog. Love it! - I've never smelled these candles, but I'm interested now."

You'll have to stop back and let us know what you think of the Capri Blue Volcano candle awesomeness.

Giveaway: Capri Blue Volcano Jar Candle

This is no ordinary candle, trust me.  I first blogged about it just over a year ago & as I sit here with it burning next to me, I realized that I needed to spread the love.  It's hard to describe the incredible scent, so you'll just have to trust me on this one.

Good luck!

Giveaway! Shutterfly Holiday Cards

I've been using Shutterfly to store & print pictures for years - I think my first album is from 2004 when my mom and I went to Paris (we like to go there) and the Loire Valley.

We also used Shutterfly for our wedding thank-you cards & album (actually, we make an album after all big trips - I highly recommend doing that!).

So it probably comes as no surprise that we use them for our Christmas cards as well.  They have generously offered up free sets of holiday cards for us & THREE of you!  Yep, three winners will receive 25 free holiday cards from Shutterfly.

This one tops my favorites list right now. I think we'll do a photo card with a family picture in one, the mini-q's in another & Derby with one all to herself (shocking, I know).

To enter the giveaway, comment below with your favorite card design.  I'll use to choose the three winners on Monday morning.

Good luck!!

Diva Derby & I on TV...and Giveaway Winner!

I have been a part of the Rovernight Network from almost the beginning.  It was started by a friend of a friend, who suggested it to me when I was stressing over boarding Derby last year.  She isn't so keen on the kennel, so this type of service is great for us.  We all know how expensive boarding your dog while on vacation can be, and this is a perfect alternative for us.  I like to think of it as social networking for dogs, and here is an excerpt from the site that describes it far better than I can:

When Jenna asked me if Derby & I would like to be part of a taping for 190 North, a Chicago program on ABC, I immediately said yes!  It was a lot of fun taping the segment - I had no idea how much work goes into a 1 minute and 30 seconds of air time!  My husband edited the show down to the part on Rovernight, and I thought I'd share it with you.

My first reaction upon seeing it was "do I really sound like that??" to which my husband replied "sometimes, yes".  It was the 4th or so take and I sound a little...strange?  I don't know.  We also laughed about seeing me texting in the background of the "Yappy Hour" shot.  I was texting him to come pick up Derby the Devil Dog since she was a little, umm, distracted.  Anyway, it was lots of fun!

Behind the scenes

AND, the moment you've all been waiting for (ha) - the winner of the Claremont Road designed DaVinci quote giveaway!  It was a very scientific method involving numbers scattered all over a sheet of paper and a wet dog nose.  The nose landed on #8, which means that Brit of Landlocked Bride is the winner!  Brit, email me at kristin @!

Have a great weekend!
