Brilliant Idea, aka, How to Make Grocery Shopping Tolerable

While in Columbus a few weeks ago, Bethany (college roomie, bridesmaid, all-around awesome) took me to the new fancy pants Giant Eagle.  By one of the entrances is a wine sampler that let's you test wines before you buy AND sip while you shop - genius!

I am not a fan of the grocery, but I am working on it!  Hey Dominick's, are you listening?!

Brilliant.

Summer Concert Series

An oft asked question in casual conversations is "What kind of music do you like?".  An easy, crowd pleasing response is "I like all music!"  When people ask me that question, I know my answer is genuine - I really do like all kinds of music.  Country, rap, indie, pop, rock, musicals, cover bands, symphony, everything (well, there are really only a couple of heavy metal songs that I like, but I think you get what I mean).  Take, for instance, the line-up of concerts so far this year:

  • Lady Gaga
  • Bon Jovi
  • Billy Currington
  • Kenny Chesney
  • Uncle Kracker
  • U2
  • Nikki Minaj
  • Britney Spears
  • Maroon 5
  • Carrie Underwood
  • Peter Frampton (which I missed in favor of U2)
  • Lifehouse
  • Chicago

Last week was a big week for music.  U2 one night; Nikki Minaj and Britney Spears 3 days later.  They were both AWESOME.

Of all the concerts I've been to, I have never seen U2 - this was a HUGE concert for me!  And they rocked the entire time they were up there.  It was insane.

A couple of nights later, we were dancing our booties off to Brit Brit.  I have loved her from the beginning and through all of her craziness.  When out dancing, I request Britney so often that DJs will sometimes see me coming and say "we're not playing any more Britney tonight"...LOVE her.

What concerts have you been to this year?

A Mustachioed Pooch

Derby joined the cool kids club, with the nod of approval from hipsters everywhere, when she decided to grow a handlebar mustache.

Who doesn't love a dog with a mustache?

Things I Love Thursday: Vacation and Turquoise

Even though we just had the first day of Spring, I am already over it and ready for SUMMER!  Luckily, Summer comes early for us in the form of a Turks & Caicos vacation.  We leave Saturday, have a day in NYC and then spend the next week in Providenciales...

Turks & Caicos last summer

I've mentioned my love of turquoise numerous times.  My favorite shade just happens to be Carribean Sea Blue (an offical color in my mind!) and I am glad that I get to stare at it for 168 hours.  As much as I'd love to have all of you join us, that just isn't possible, so I've decided to do a week of turquoise posts with a couple of summer wardrobe guests posts sprinkled in as well.

Since I'm in the mood, I thought I'd dive right in:  turquoise is great as a color all on its own.  However, if you already have a home that is decorated & not in need of a makeover (if you do, click here and let me know!), I want to show you how easy it is to add turquoise in as an accent color.  Whether it's complimenting or contrasting, it goes well with every single color.  Don't believe me?  Take a look for yourself!

And my personal favorite - the Jonathan Adler designed room featuring turquoise (swoon), navy (SWOON) and yellow (FUN!).

Are you all ready for a week of Summer lovin'?  I know I am!  I am not, however, looking forward to dropping Derby off at the kennel :(  We are doing a 2 week board and train, which I KNOW will be SO GOOD for her, but I can't help but think about how much I will miss that fur face!
