I Love this SO MUCH

There are so many photo a day type video/slideshows out there that I have always liked.  Pregnancy documention, baby growing, etc.  When a friend of mine posted this video on Facebook, I skipped past it (as I do with most linked videos when I'm just quickly checking in) but later scrolled back up to watch it.  I am so glad I did!

I admit that it is sometimes hard for me to remember to take H's weekly picture (we're doing the oft copied Young House Love photo project), and this would be even more challenging, but my hope is that with daily repetition it will become habit within a couple of weeks.

H pulled up to stand for the first time yesterday and I managed to get it on video.  Yesterday was also May 1st, a perfect date to start this project, no??

Welcome, Baby!

4 weeks ago, our lives changed for the better.  Baby girl was born at 11:06 a.m.

She weighed 7 lbs. 2 oz. & was 21" long.

The whole birth experience was far better than I could have ever imagined!  I had myself so worked up & it ended up being quite great.  Quite exhausting, but really great.

We had a great view!  It was Labor Day (ha!), so boaters were out in full force.  What a gorgeous day it was!

Getting ready to leave the hospital!

My mom made it into town 1 hour before she was born.  I was so happy to have her there with us!

Our family - I love this picture!  Derby has been such a good girl & we can already tell how much she loves her little sister.

H, we love you SO much.

More posts later about adjusting to life with a newborn.  What a wild ride it has been so far!

3 Years

Happy Anniversary, Mr. Q!

Life is good!

It's Been a Long Time, My Friends!

& for that, I do apologize!  I have been so busy with work (don't worry, I am not complaining in the least bit - I love my job!) and travel and babies.  BABIES!

First, meet my new niece:

My sister is Superwoman and delivered this bundle of joy like a champ!  We all love her so much.  So, so much.

You may have noticed that I say babIES, as in more than one baby.  Yep, my little niece will have a cousin in approximately 4 1/2 months.  & Derby will have a little sister.  & Mr. Q and I will have a daughter.  I cannot wait to welcome our baby girl into the world.

So far, it has been smooth sailing!  I'm now gearing up for registries, baby showers, nursery (nursery!  A new room to design...yay!), and overall craziness that is about to descend on our household.  & love.  Lots and lots of love!

Can't wait to share nursery inspiration and design with all of you.  I promise that this won't turn into a baby blog, but there will be definite kid design related things to come.  I started a new kids board on Pinterest to help wrangle all of the ideas that are floating around in my head...this is going to be a fun ride!

Radio (City Music Hall) Silence

So I obviously haven't done so well with my resolution to keep up with a consistent blogging schedule, but I'm working on it.  Don't give up on me yet!

I got back on Monday night from a long weekend in NYC with Mama Quiche, my sister & her friend (who I have known since I was a little girl).  We were celebrating our friends 40th birthday, Big Apple Style.  And did we ever!  I still can't believe how much action we packed into 4 days...  I ended up feeling sick starting on the plane ride home & am just now starting to feel better.  Yikes!

Surprisingly, I didn't take very many pictures.  I think because the flashbulbs were popping left & right all around me (no, not travel companions!) I didn't feel the need to take as many & just hope to poach pictures off all of them.  Soon!  Until then, here is a sampling of shots I took.

Today Show!

We also have a couple of pictures of the TV that shows how close we were to the action!  This was on my mom's bucket list, and I'm glad we were able to go while her boyfriend (Matt Lauer) is still there.  So much fun!

We made signs.  It was awesome.

We also walked all around the city, shopped, ate a lot, shopped, walked, ate, went to MoMA, the Public Library, Bryant Park, Times Square (a lot b/c it was right by our hotel), met up with family, walked, shopped & ate some more!

Have a great weekend!
