Below are things that have been swirling around in my head as potential blog posts...some of them for months...until I realized that I don't have that much to say about each particular subject. So, I thought I'd get them all off of my chest at once (a Brain Dump, as my friend Jenna calls it!).
#1 Blago trial. Politicians are shady (and ALL politicians from Chicago are shady). Why is this still news? Frankly, I am one of the people who is glad that he was acquitted on (almost) all charges. If the prosecution decides to do a retrial, I am going to be pissed. They have already wasted millions of taxpayer dollars on this and I am tired of it. Move on.
#2 Photoshop. I tweeted about this when the story broke, but what is up with the ridiculous photoshopping going on lately? Don't get me wrong...I love me a clone stamp tool, but this is taking it to extremes. & Ann Taylor? Isn't their demographic slightly different than heroine chic waifs? Calvin Klein or Marc Jacobs, sure (only their pre-pubescent models actually are that thin), but Ann Taylor?!
"Shame on you, . You've done it before & said you wouldn't do it again: Way to promote body issues. 6:19 PM Aug 5th via web "

#3 Paris. My mom & I went to Paris 3 weeks before my wedding last year. I have always wanted to share the pictures with everyone, and even planned to do it on Weddingbee, but the wedding took over and our lovely Paris trip fell by the wayside. Would it be strange for me to blog about our trip over a year later? There are some really great pictures that I'd love to share.
#4 Blogging. How do you find the inspiration and time? Seriously, I want to blog more & have found design-focused blogging to be a little challenging. There are so many great ones out there; how do I find my audience?
#5 Eating Organic. My poor husband. How does he put up with me? I've been yammering on for almost 2 years about making the complete switch to all organic, and when possible, local food. Have I gone to the ridiculously amazing Green City Market once this year? Nope! And I absolutely refuse to reveal that it is in my neighborhood. Oops. Why do I have such trouble with these seemingly simple adult things? Sorry Theo :)
#6 Speaking of Clothes... After walking into Forever 21 and seeing hoards of braces-wearing, pimply faced teenagers, I realized that it is absolutely time for me to STOP shopping at these kinds of places. I buy horribly cheap clothing, wear it once and then it spends the rest of its days in the back of my closet until I decide to take a trip to Goodwill. I am DONE.* Ha, as I type this, I look down at my VVI cami and blouse...ha. Okay, so I do have a few things that are some of my favorites. I'll keep those.
What I plan to do, and have been thinking of for awhile (since discussing it via blog comments on The Less Than Domestic Goddess um, a year ago?), is starting out with the basics and adding on pieces gradually from there. While in Savannah last week, we popped into Banana Republic to escape the heat. I ended up with a great black pencil skirt and silk top - excellent starter basics!
I may end up turning this into a series of posts...we shall see.

*However, if I am ever in need of anything uber-trendy or a sequins mini tube dress, Forever Slutty, you're my girl.
Reading back on this post, one thing is alarmingly clear: I need to GET MOTIVATED!
Okay, I think that's it. Well, it's all I can think of right now. I've realized that this was more an Airing of Grievances, so I think I'll change the post title (it was the oh-so-clever Random Thoughts).
While I think I've decided to combine design blogging with life blogging, I promise my next post will bring us all back to my favorite subject - interior design!

please share about paris even a year later!!
Please share your Paris pictures!
I loved your list - I would be interested in reading about your thoughts on any of those topics! :)
Yes! Definitely post on your Parisian trip. There's never not a right time to see photos of Paris.
As for Forever 21, I hear you. I have been trying to stay away from the disposables, buying only pieces that I know I will keep and won't make me feel like a 33-yr-old masquerading as a 13-yr-old. That being said, a fun, cheap top from Forever 21 never fails to punch up a chic Theory suit!
#3 - Definitely not too late to blog about the trip. I'm thinking of doing so for an old vacation as well.
#5 - I do the same thing to the U.
#6 - I don't know if I'll ever be able to give up on the ridiculously priced trendy items, but I definitely think spending a little on the quality, staple pieces is totally worth it. And places like Banana have stuff on sale for great deals ALL THE TIME!
Hmm...thanks ladies! I think this was exactly the motivation I needed!! Paris pics coming soon :) & I will never be able to completely rule out Forever 21, but definitely need to go less. A lot less.
Can't wait to see what you blog about Paris! When are we going back? :)
-As someone who blogs about travel, YES you can write about a trip that was a year ago!
-I buy cheap clothes too. I can't drop $100 on a shirt though or should I say I refuse to. I do a mix of stores at various price points, but almost all are not designer.
-That photoshopping is CRAZY!
-Eating organic is hard and expensive. I'm going to try to do it more myself.
Swan, now I am convinced - I will blog about Paris! Luckily, my mom took great notes in her journal, so it is easy to remember what we did and where we went.
Mom - you say the word and I am there!
I want to see your Paris pictures.
